How did you learn about this Seine Bight Website? Mrs. Sampson emailed it to one of the teachers at Pallotti High School and she shared it with us the Garifuna teachers

Comments:

Fr. Laz worked with us at retreats, celebrated Mass with students and enlightened us through workshops about the life of our patron saint - St Vincent Pallotti.  On a more personal basis, he made me understand and appreciate my Catholic Faith.

Fr. Laz was indeed a servant of God.

Zimbabweh is a village I enjoy visiting.   As a Garifuna teacher I love my people and culture.   I must big up the creators of this website.   They used one of the greatest son of the soil Fr. Laz at the forefront.   The people of this village are God fearing people and this has been so since the devil was a cowboy.

I enjoyed reading the write up about Fr Laz Augustine.  I used to make to make it a point to attend the 19th celebration Garifuna Mass he celebrated in Los Angeles. His death was a major loss to the Garinagu in Belize and abroad. We lost a wonderful person, but God has called Home another one of His Angels.

The information about Fr. Laz Augustine is beautiful and is deserving of such a wonderful person, who lived his life's purpose by, preaching God's work.  I do believe he is in Heaven with his Heavenly Father.

I am a proud Garinagu who was very impressed with the information placed on the web site. I love my culture, but we need to unite and help each other in the States. And we also need to teach our younger generation the language.

According to MasterFisherman Balbino Palacio, - Seine Bight village was ideal for fishing but the peninsula was not so ideal for farming hence they found it neccesary to cross the lagoon west to the main land for more fertile farming land. They farmed near-by and went as far inland to where it is now George Town (then called Wahaleaf / California).
