This site is a great help.  What I couldn't find is any info on the best times to see some traditional drumming and dance.  I will be there in May and I hope to experince as much of your culture as I can!  Another good page might be a quick guide to services that visitors may need.  I saw the hotel/club page but it looks incomplete and I was also interested in the grocery store (hours) and shops to buy local art and crafts.

It is very interesting to learn of my diverse culture, as a Puerto Rican I was not aware that our ancestor are spread all over the Caribbean and our old language is diverse.

Great website! I have been to Belize twice now and have many Garinagu friends in Hopkins Village. I love reading about their fascinating history!

My family is making its first trip to Belize from the US and we are looking forward to seeing the village and meeting the people.  I am especially looking forward to hearing some of the music.  I know this portion will be one of the highlights of our trip.  See you soon!

Well first off, I am a student at St. John's College in Belize city, and I had a book report to do on a historical event in Belize. I chose the Garifuna because they are one of the most prominent ethnic groups in Belize. Despite the struggles, they make a conscious effort to pass on their tradition and make their culture known to everyone.  Keep up the excellent job and let's take Belize to its full potential.

I was born in Seine Bight Village,I live in Houston,Texas.  I am proud on the accomplishments and advancement of my beautiful village and people.  

I was born in Peini and lived in Seine Bight  with my Granny whose name was Milenia Thomas.  I am proud to be a Garifuna  and I represent my legacy and culture wherever I go.  Seremein!

 i am  proud garinagu and i am doing everything to show the world about our garifuna people. i am from New Orleans and there are quite a few garifuna people here. but i would like my culture to become known throughout New Orleans.
